When it comes time to plan your Summer vacation, the pressure’s on to get it just right. After all, Summer comes but once a year, and this is your time to be free of your day to day routine and professional obligations. It’s time to unwind and have the time of your life! So, where to start? Well, at home of course. The planning phase is where you have the opportunity to craft a truly brilliant Summer getaway. Here are a few tips to make this trip one to remember.
For starters, book everything early. And, I mean as early as humanly possible. This way, you can ease into your trip smoothly instead of panicking at the last minute. So, go ahead and book a flight, hotel room, rent a car, etc. as needed with a service like Priceline just to get it out of the way. Likewise, you want to pack as early as possible, too, though since you’ll be using much of what you pack up until you leave, you won’t have much time in advance. Make every second count. Don’t forget the essentials, such as your passport and ID, as well as clothing and toiletries.
Next, you’re going to need a killer itinerary. You want to have at least a rough idea of what you want to do and when for the entirety of the trip. Even if you play fast and loose with the itinerary, you can do so knowing what has to shift where to still have a pretty solid idea of what you have time for. So, don’t feel confined to stick to the itinerary, it’s there to help you enjoy yourself. Last, but certainly not least, dress for comfort. You want to look great, of course, but you also want to feel as relaxed as possible when you’re out to relax. It’s science!
